Joanna Hillman's new looks are always something I look forward to seeing during fashion week!

Joanna Hillman takes risks, and that’s what I like about her. While I wouldn’t choose some of her outfits for myself, I appreciate that she has fun with fashion. She plays with interesting colors, prints, and silhouettes, but always sticks with a trademark beauty look. Straight, white-blonde hair, dark sunglasses, and red lips work for her – and she knows it.  With a girl like this as the Senior Fashion Market Editor, no wonder Harper’s BAZAAR is always one of my favorite magazines.

Bergdorf Goodman Celebrates 111 Years - Iris Apfel

Iris Apfel

Iris Apfel is incredible. At 90 years old, she is one of the most fun, flamboyant figures in style history and deeply revered by many as a true icon. Her trademark can be broken down into a few signature pieces: huge black eyeglasses, layered statement necklaces, and an armful of colorful bangles. I really admire Iris’s ability to mix unique and/or ethnic pieces into her everyday wardrobe. She embraces color and texture, and mixes them artfully and boldly together. Try channeling Ms. Apfel by throwing on an armful (or two) of your biggest, brightest, boldest bracelets. Think outside the box! After all, you only live once, and only the fabulous can live like Iris Apfel.

.

Kate Moss. How does she do it? Just her name is synonymous with fashion royalty. Despite her incredible modeling career, she has become more than just a face. Kate is a symbol. She has the innate ability to take high fashion and spin it so that she looks as if she has just rolled out of bed. Kate was a pioneer of mixing high-end with low-end, one of the most important ideas in fashion today. Follow Kate’s example and try mixing your quilted Chanel bag with a Forever 21 cardigan, or wear H&M with your grandmother’s diamonds. What is the point of saving your best things to sit in a closet? You will appreciate your high-end pieces more as you wear them.
